The Beck Law Firm, LLC serves clients who seek practical legal counsel and solutions for their situation or problem. Founded by attorney Joel Beck, our work is focused in the areas of financial markets law, estate planning, and small business representation. Our personalized service for each of our clients is based on the belief that they are real people with real needs and questions – not just a number on a file folder.
Joel founded The Beck Law Firm, LLC after a ten-year career with NASD, where he worked as an examiner, paralegal, and then six years as an enforcement attorney. There, Joel litigated cases involving violations of NASD Rules, MSRB Rules, and federal securities laws, including charges such as penny stock fraud, unsuitable recommendations, excessive trading and churning, unauthorized trading, improper supervision, anti-money laundering violations, misrepresentations and omissions, and research analyst issues. Joel has been designated a Certified Regulatory and Compliance Professional by the NASD Institute at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Joel earned his law degree, magna cum laude, from John Marshall Law School, Atlanta, Georgia, where he was also a recipient of the West Publishing Company Award for Academic Excellence. Joel earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree at Georgia Southern University. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia.
Joel and his family live in Lawrenceville, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta. Joel serves on the Board of Directors for Family Promise of Gwinnett County, an organization providing shelter and services to homeless families, moving them towards permanent housing. Joel is also active in his church. When not counseling his clients, Joel might be found enjoying time with his family, playing drums, or playing with Maya, a yellow lab that currently serves as the official mascot of The Beck Law Firm.
